I’ve been creating order from complexity for most of my life. I just didn’t always have language for it.
As a mother, I learned to navigate systems that weren’t always easy to understand—asking questions, advocating, researching, preparing, and figuring out what came next when the path wasn’t clear.
When I opened and directed a licensed private preschool and childcare program, that instinct became infrastructure: policies, parent communication, enrollment systems, safety procedures, handbooks, and plans for the things you hope never happen.
The state set a foundational floor, but I saw it as my responsibility to build beyond it—to provide quality care and steward well what had been entrusted to me. That experience taught me that good systems don’t just satisfy requirements. They create trust.
That same instinct followed me into tech: customer support, escalation, quality assurance. Different setting, same work—take something complicated, understand what’s really happening, and make the path forward clearer.
For a long time, I saw those experiences as separate chapters of my life. Now I see the through-line.
These places didn’t make me who I am. They revealed something God had already placed in me.
The ability to see structure inside complexity. To ask the next question. To anticipate what someone may need before they know they need it. To take information that feels overwhelming and make it understandable, navigable, and actionable.
Eventually, I found professional language for some of it: information architecture, instructional design, systems thinking. The language didn’t create the gift; it simply helped me recognize what had been there all along.
Goodness & Mercí is where I steward that gift now—where faith, lived experience, thoughtful preparation, and practical tools come together to help women move through what they’re carrying with greater clarity, grace — and take the next step.
